SNN BUSINESS EXCHANGE
A Business Event Built Around What Happens When the Right People Meet
The SNN Business Exchange is not another business conference where you spend most of the day sitting in rows listening to presentations.
And it isn't simply a bigger networking meeting.
It has been created by the Scottish National Network to bring businesses, entrepreneurs, decision-makers, public-sector representatives, investors, procurement professionals and organisations from across Scotland together for a day built around conversation, introductions, information and opportunity.
Throughout the day, there will be different ways to participate.
You can listen. You can question. You can pitch. You can exhibit. You can arrange meetings. You can join discussions. And, most importantly, you can meet people who could make a difference to your business.
Come with a reason for being there. Leave with new people to talk to.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
From the moment you arrive, the emphasis is on getting people talking.
We don't want you spending the entire day with the people you already know.
SNN is about making introductions, opening conversations and creating opportunities.
The programme combines structured business sessions with plenty of opportunities to meet other delegates throughout the day.
The Scottish Business Debate
We bring some of the issues affecting Scottish businesses into the room and put them up for discussion.
Rather than simply being talked at, delegates can hear different perspectives, ask questions and contribute their own experiences.
What is working for Scottish businesses? What isn't? What needs to change?
Expect a proper business conversation.
Pitch Lift
Could you explain your business and the opportunity you're looking for in a matter of minutes?
Selected businesses will have the opportunity to take part in Pitch Lift, putting their business, idea, product, service or opportunity in front of the room.
You never quite know who might be listening.
Founder Stories
Behind every business is a story.
Our Founder Stories sessions hear from business owners and entrepreneurs about what actually happened along the way — the decisions, mistakes, challenges, turning points and successes.
Not polished theory.
Real businesses. Real experiences. Real lessons.
Power Hour
One of the most important parts of the Business Exchange.
The Power Hour is designed to move beyond chance encounters and create more purposeful conversations.
Where possible, we'll help bring together businesses and individuals who have a genuine reason to speak to one another.
That could be a potential customer, supplier, collaborator, adviser, investor or simply someone who can make the introduction you've been trying to find.
The Deal Room
For Premium and VIP delegates, the Deal Room creates an additional opportunity to explore conversations around areas such as investment, finance, procurement, contracts and larger supply-chain opportunities.
It is about getting closer to the people, information and opportunities that could help move a business forward.
Live Lounge
A more relaxed part of the programme, but still very much about business.
The Live Lounge gives us an opportunity to explore businesses, ideas and personalities in a different format and hear conversations that might not fit the traditional conference stage.
Leaders' Question Time
We want businesses to have access to people who influence the environment in which they operate.
Our Leaders' Question Time will bring invited leaders and VIP guests into the conversation, giving delegates the opportunity to hear their views and, importantly, put questions to them.
Our first VIP guest announced for Edinburgh is Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
Further guests will be announced as we get closer to each event.
AND THEN THERE'S THE NETWORKING...
This isn't something we've squeezed into a coffee break.
Networking runs through the entire SNN Business Exchange.
You'll meet businesses at registration, around the exhibition, during sessions, over coffee, at lunch, through the Power Hour and throughout the afternoon.
There will also be the SNN Collaboration Wall, where businesses can share what they are looking for and what they can offer.
Looking for a supplier?
Have a contract opportunity?
Seeking investment?
Recruiting?
Looking for a business partner?
Have expertise another business needs?
Put it in the room.
Because sometimes the person who can help is already standing ten feet away — they just don't know you're looking for them.
WHO WILL YOU MEET?
There is no single "type" of SNN Business Exchange delegate — and that's deliberate.
We're bringing together:
Business owners and entrepreneurs.
SMEs and growing companies.
Senior decision-makers.
Professional services.
Public-sector organisations.
Procurement and supply-chain representatives.
Investors and finance professionals.
Established Scottish businesses.
Start-ups and founders.
Exhibitors, sponsors and specialist advisers.
Different sectors. Different sizes. Different experiences.
One business community.
DON'T JUST ATTEND. GET INVOLVED.
One of the biggest differences with the SNN Business Exchange is that you don't have to be a spectator.
When you book, think about what you want from the day.
Who would you like to meet?
What does your business need?
What opportunity are you looking for?
What can you offer another business?
Is there someone you would like an introduction to?
Tell us.
We cannot guarantee that every introduction will result in business — nobody genuinely can — but we can work hard to create the circumstances in which the right conversations are much more likely to happen.

WHY SNN?
The Scottish National Network is building a business community based on a simple principle:
People buy from people.
Relationships matter.
Introductions matter.
Being visible matters.
Following up matters.
And being part of a business community where people begin to recognise your name, understand what you do and know who they can introduce you to can be incredibly powerful.
The Business Exchange takes everything we're building through SNN and puts it into one room for an entire day.

WHAT COULD ONE DAY LEAD TO?
A new customer?
A supplier you didn't know existed?
A collaboration between two businesses?
A procurement opportunity?
An introduction to a decision-maker?
A conversation that changes the direction of your business?
We don't know.
And that's exactly the point.
Business opportunities often begin with two people who didn't previously know each other having the right conversation.
We're creating the room.
You just need to be in it.
